The ongoing global economic crisis has already started affecting Indian Economy is general and Indian Industry is particular. All the stakeholders, Industry, Governments, RBI, Industry Associations, Bankers etc. are concerned about emerging scenario.

The GoM has requested MEDC to undertake a Quick Study of ‘The impact of Economic Meltdown on Economy of Maharashtra’, the Govt. keen on finding out the Sectoral Impact on areas such as : Textile, Engineering\, Chemicals, Construction, Pharma and important service industries. MEDC organized a meeting of the Sr. officials of prominent Chambers of Commerce and Industry Associations on 24th Dec. 2008 in MEDC office.

More than 35 representatives from various industries associations, chambers and key officials of Directorate of Industries GoM attended the meeting.
