Inaugural Flight between Nashik to Mumbai

After several futile attempts at establishing commercial air traffic to Nashik and hiccups, Nashik is finally featuring on the Air Services-map. MEDC takes pride in this development and considers it as a major feather in its cap; especially because it was the Council which took the initiative in this direction in addition to MIDC, HAL, AAI and subsequently campaigned for it. Our persistent efforts with all concerned agencies have borne fruit.

MEDC’s dream became a reality when DN –301, 48 sitter Air Deccan Plane Took off on 27th March 2005 from Ojhar Airport. Guardian Minister Hon’ble Chhaganrao Bhujbal flagged off the inaugural flight.

Mr. Kishor Gajbhiye, Divisional Commissioner, Nashik, Capt. Gopinath, CEO, Air Deccan, Mr. K.P. Puri, MD, Hindustan Aeronautic Ltd., Mr. Devidas Pingle, MP, Dr. Shobha Bachchav, MLC. Mr. Harshchandra Chavan, Dr. Vasant Pawar, Dilip Bankar, Pratap Sonawane, Mr. N. Botraste, MLA and many more dignitaries attended the function. More than 300 participants were eyewitness to this historical function.

Mr. Prakash Patil, MEDC Divisional Director & Mr. Prashant Shiledar, MEDC Divisional Secretary took the major initiative in ensuring the success of this function. Mr. Anil Deshpande, CEO, Mr. T.B. Sinha, Advisor and Mr. Suresh Ghorpade, Executive Assistant,MEDC also attended this function.
