He used to work in the EDP section earning a salary of Rs. 10,000/- per month. When he realized that the machine on which he used to operate cost Rs. 1CR, he admired the guts of his employer for investing such a huge amount in the business. Accidentally he read a news in a magazine that a company in Japan has purchased 400 such machines, he was really shocked. It was beyond his imagination to think about the volume of the business the Japanese company was planning for. That news item became a turning point in the life of Mr. Lalit Mahadeshwar who immediately decided to start his own business. Today, Mr. Mahadeshwar is a successful entrepreneur heading Sateri Systems Inc- a progressive global company with core expertise in Information Technology products and services for the Customer Care and billing industry.

Mr. Mahadeshwar , born and raised in Mumbai has held roles such as a Technical lead, software designer Architect and Senior Manager in many multinational companies like Citi group, Procter and Gamble, IBM etc. He was deputed by IBM New Zealand as a Technical Lead for North and South America after taking over a Customer Care and billing solution company called DPI in Houston, TX. In this assignment he was instrumental in successful implementation of enterprise level solution ICMS in around 30Telecom companies worldwide.

About seven years ago Mr. Mahadeshwar started his own company Sateri Systems after the incident mentioned in the first part of the article. The market conditions were really tough, but Mr. Mahadeshwar with his expertise and determination managed to overcome the teething problems and led the company on the path of success. Today Sateri Systems boasts being one of handful of companies all over the world to receive SOA certification from IBM for its product as well as leading Systems Integrator for state of the art web services based project in Fortune 100 companies.

Mr.Mahadeshwar’s Sateri Systems has worked for dozens of Telecom companies throughout the world to implement their customer care and billing systems. The company has been a leading implementation partner of Comverse’s ICNS winning over 90% of projects in North America and Asia- Pacific . Mr. Mahadeshwar has also built strong and proven relationship with reputed industries like IBM being Advance Business Partner, CSG Systems Inc being Systems Integrator Partner for North America and Asia Pacific and Qualex Inc being Systems Integrator Partner for Futrix and SAS projects in Telecommunications, to name a few.

Modest and publicity shy Mr. Mahadeshwar gives the credit for Sateri Systems achievement to his versatile, and experienced team, but this very fact highlights his leadership and team building qualities. Mr. Mahadeshwar has attracted senior level professionals from reputed organizations like IBM, PWC, Oracle that have decades of experience in Telecom and IT technologies. He has built a global, culturally diverse team with people coming together from countries like, USA,UK, France, India, Srilanka, Philippines and New Zealand . In 2007 ,Sateri Systems executed projects in five new countries from Brazil to Papua New Genie. The company now has its own state of Art Research and Development Lab in Pune and a team of over sixty professionals spread in several countries.

Mr. Mahadeshwar’s team helps the customers with all phases in the technology life cycle. Their expertise includes business and technical process engineering, software analysts, software supports, implementation, conversion, integration, unit and functional testing, training, project management and IBM , iSeries,xSeries, Sun Solaris, Inter server operations and administration.

Mr. Mahadeshwar is socially very active and has been elected as Executive Member for a social organization called BMM comprising of 38 chapter members in North America. BMM is mainly an organization of people originating from Maharashtra and settled in USA and Canada. Ha has started a business forum called NAME ( North American Maharashtrian Entrepreneurs) He is also associated with various local bodies and charity organizations.

Mr. Mahadeshwar also get has the credit of starting the first film festival of Marathi films in North Carolina, USA and was instrumental in doing the first world premier of a Marathi film outside India. He enjoys friends from artistic and political circles of India and takes sincere interest in arranging various theatre related programmes.
